Eli Kimmel Ms. Lehmann English 1-1A April 5, 2019 Response to As You Like It
Play: As You Like It. Author: William Shakespeare. Company: Shakesperience My opinion of this play is that it was good. I really liked everything about it. I especially liked the costumes, music, and the set and props. I think that it was a well-thought-out play, and I really liked it, even though I thought that I would hate it. I really liked the music that they chose to use because in my opinion, it is way better than this “rap” and “K-Pop” crap that they use as an excuse for music. I really liked the music because it went perfectly with the theme, and the time setting was perfect with the music because it was at the end of the 80's and all those songs were from the 80s. None of the songs that I heard were from the 90s. I especially liked the part where they played Queen’s “I Want to Break Free.” I think that that song was perfectly timed for when they were changing their identity and running from the evil duke. I really liked the acting parts and how they did all of it. I really liked how when the bell rang, they acted like it was an unfamiliar sound in the forest. I think that they really acted their characters well and when they would switch characters, they would act accordingly and didn’t mess up on anything. I also really liked the props. They had one side that had a lot of speakers and subwoofers on the boxes for the city scenes, and on the other three sides, it had grass for the forest scenes. They did really well changing scenes. They did it quickly, and then got right back to acting. In conclusion, I really liked the whole thing overall. I liked the music and props and everything about the play because it was very well done. It was a bit easier to understand because of the time setting and they changed the wordings a little bit, and they spoke loud and clear, but the echo of the gym made it kind of hard to understand.
List one thing you've learned from writing this paper that you have applied to other writing assignments. I learned that I really like plays more than I thought I would.
Identify a challenge you faced while writing this paper (this can be at any stage of the writing process). How did you overcome the challenge? What did you learn? I had a challenge where I keep putting the period after the quotation marks.
What genre does this paper fit? How do you know? It fits the exclamatory category because it is an opinionated paper.
Given more time to work on this paper, how would you improve it? I would probably add more of what I liked about the different categories.
Why did you choose to include this paper? What do you want me to learn about you as a writer? The reason I chose to include this paper was because I already had it done, and I was given the option to use it for this category.
